Yellowstone’s Beloved "Queen of the Wolves" Passes After Rival Pack Attack
Yellowstone National Park has lost one of its most iconic residents—11-year-old 907F, the "queen of the wolves." Known for her strength and resilience, 907F lived much longer than most wolves, who typically survive only 4 to 5 years. Blind in one eye, she led the Junction Butte pack until her tragic death following an attack by the rival Rescue Creek pack. She and her pups were feasting on a bison carcass when the ambush occurred. Her passing marks the end of an era for Yellowstone’s wolf population.
